The health benefits provided by the CBD are increasingly recognized around the globe. Through research, specialists from different countries have proven their effectiveness and Puerto Rico is no exception.
Just a few days ago, a request from physicians from the College of Surgeons of Puerto Rico (CMCPR) came to the Department of Health, in which they expressed their interest in recommending, providing and dispensing cannabidiol products in their offices.
In addition, the president of the CMCPR, Víctor Ramos, requested an authorization for the entity to grow cannabis for research purposes, highlighting the properties of the CBD and its use in pediatric patients.
The petition was held at a hearing on the Medical Cannabis Regulation at the first meeting of the Puerto Rico Cannabis Association, where several doctors expressed their approval to make the plant available to patients who require it, not only the terminals but also people with other diseases.
A dispensary of cannabidiol?
Looking after the welfare of patients, Ramos proposed that the regulation stipulate that the treating doctor decided which dispensary patients should go to because the product is not uniform, there are different types of strains with various compounds.
The board also requested CBD consumption to be legalized in other presentations besides the vaporizer, as in edible products and infusions.
